Happy 1st Birthday to Us!

Posted on May 15th, by Kim Randall in KiMedia Strategies News. No Comments

Today is a big day for us for today is our 1st birthday. Today we celebrate the past year, look back on the goals we had, the dreams we made come true, the struggles we dealt with along the way and of course everyone that’s been a part of this journey with us.

Some of you know us personally so you know that KiMedia Strategies has been the dream of founder and CEO, Kim Randall (AKA me :)) This company started with the thought that all businesses need to know more about what we love, Social Media. We made it our goal to educate as many people as we could about the various platforms and the different, unique ways to use them to get in front of target audiences.

Let’s rewind a year, shall we?

This time last year I sat at my good friend Irma’s house (of ID Marketing and Events) where she helped me legally get the business all set up – Thank you Irma, from the bottom of my heart, love you tons!

In June we enjoyed sharing some of our strategies and basic Social Media tactics for the Kiwanis in Oldsmar, FL.

In the months to come we landed some awesome new clients, a good friend at Tropik Media helped with a couple – Thanks so much, Erik!

In July we were contributing sponsors at Startup Weekend Tampa and provided Social Media help and advice where and when it was needed – Give back when you can, it’s a great feeling!

August found me turning 31 and looking forward to heading back home to St. Louis for two weeks to visit friends. This would be the first official time we were working remotely, it was scary, but fun nonetheless. It was also the first time I got to sit down with many old friends and explain to them what I did. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to tell people “I did it!” and even a greater feeling of success knowing people are truly proud of what I’ve accomplished.

September was spent getting back into the groove of things at the home office and working on some new campaigns. It was a busy month!

October was amazing in many ways. The beginning of October brought us Courtney, KiMedia Strategies’ first intern, a new brand identity, and the St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series <– That really had nothing to do with us, but we Tweeted A LOT about it! We were also invited to speak on a panel at IADT for the Tampa Bay Graphic Design meetup group.

November and December were spent in a Holiday blur filled with parties, events and the first ever Holiday Drop-A-Thon that we co-sponsored with our friends at Dropost.it

January brought a new year, new clients and our second trip back to St. Louis to visit more friends. I think we’re getting the hang of this remote office stuff at this point. We launched our #BeSocial campaign complete with tips, stickers, downloadable goals guide, and we opened up signups to our “You Can Be Social Too” newsletter. (Sign up to the right of this post)

February we focused on clients, new clients, new campaigns and amazing results. We were interviewed and featured in Artistik Magazine on the topic of Social Branding (Thanks Kerstin xoxo!).

March was a CRAZY month. New clients, Startup Weekend Tampa plans and SXSW. That’s right, armed with hundreds of stickers, we took over the city of Austin for not only us, but our clients. We made some priceless connections, drank a lot of beer with the guys from LaunchRock and did a LOT of walking. For March Madness we launched a Pinterest contest for our friends at Tropik Media, getting recognized for the creativity behind the strategy.

April was the month for Startup Weekend Tampa. We promoted, Tweeted and helped make the event amazing enjoying every moment of it.

May has already been amazing. If we had to pick one moment that’s been the best so far, we couldn’t. We could however tell you that our sticker efforts paid off at SXSW because a little over a week ago we received the Tweet below. How amazing is that!? (Thanks Sarah!)

The Future of KiMedia Strategies

Our exact future is unknown, but we do know that we hope to continue providing a legit service that inspires others to be more social in their Social Media efforts.

This next year MIGHT also bring:

  • * A Social Media campaign taking us to South Africa
  • * Some new and exciting clients (in the near future)
  • * Continuing the “Be Social” campaign with live chats and a possible Online magazine
  • * More tips
  • * Possible webinars or videos
  • * Partnerships with some great local companies

No matter what this next year brings us, we know one thing…. We know that we will put everything we have into each and every client campaign. We know we will only get more creative and strategic all while having a lot of fun and we invite you to join us on our journey!

Thank you everyone that has been there to help us this past year, cheers to the next year!
