Do You Want Social Media Success?

We are human which means that we can be impatient at times. I am impatient with many things, but only if I am not educated in the fact that the specific thing which I cannot wait for takes time.

How many of you Moms and Dads can relate to this, it’s almost dinner time and your child comes in whining “Mom/Dad I’m starving, I want to eat now!” The problem here is that the child doesn’t understand that it takes time to cook a delicious dinner. Sure, you could turn the heat up on the meatballs that are cooking beautifully on the stove, but you run the risk of burning them or cooking them very fast on the outside leaving them slightly raw on the inside. This is how many people are when it comes to their Social Media. Due to the fact that they are uneducated they want results almost instantly and they do not realize what could happen should you rush a Social Media Strategy. Things could very quickly become messy.  A rushed strategy  will not go as planned and like that burned meatball that did not taste good, your Social Media will also burn. You will use all of your resources, ideas and strategies too quickly without giving your newly created presence time to thoroughly “cook”. You will be promoting and advertising to people that do not care because you haven’t taken the chance to really find those that will become beneficial to your Online efforts.

Yes I am using spaghetti and meatballs as an example because maybe if I refer to something that many of us can relate to then more people will understand that a Social Media Strategy takes time. No matter what the strategy is, who the company is, what they do or what they offer, it still takes time to build a community of relevant and quality followers and friends Online.

Sure, I could get you 1000 followers tomorrow, but I can also promise you that those followers are not the quality you need. Are you a local business? If you are you have to realize that local potential clients must be found, followed and communicated to. You must build up trust Online before you can receive anything close to your goals.

How does one build trust?

Being relevant

Staying consistent

Not giving up

Providing quality content

Interacting and communicating

Think about all of the things you would like to receive from a brand Online if you chose to follow or connect with them. Do you have them in your head? OK, put it on paper and start implementing that into your own Social Strategy.

Social Media Strategists are not miracle workers, but we do know the best route for your business
