Many people that know me know that I got started with my Social Media obsession while working for a real world company within the virtual world of Second Life. It’s been a good year and a half since I have done any branding or promoting inworld, but still love to pop my avatar in and see what’s going on from time to time. I Tweet and Facebook with many Second Life residents, many which are old clients or friends from the days when I would spend 12+ hours working on promoting virtual goods.

Second Life could be considered a Social Media platform to real world companies, but to Second Life residents it is simply Second Life. It’s a world where you can choose to be anyone or thing that you wish and you can do (just about) anything you desire. You can own a business in Second Life a lot easier than in real life, but sadly so many Second Life business owners give up all too soon. They aren’t equipped with the knowledge on how to use other real world Social Platforms to brand their Second Life business and so they give up.
