It Was Just a Pizza Box, Until It Wasn’t

There’s always that one project, the one that quietly changes everything.

For me, it was a pizza box.

Slice of The Burg needed custom boxes, and what started as a simple question from Mary during Covid turned into a creative rabbit hole I didn’t expect. I remember obsessing over the typography, playing around with palm tree patterns, QR code placements, and finding the right colors that matched their brand palette.

It stopped being “just a pizza box” pretty quickly.

Somewhere in the middle of designing it, something shifted in me. Up until then, I was thinking in terms of posts and platforms. That project forced me to think bigger. Identity. Experience. Emotional connection.

How does this feel in someone’s hands? How does it reinforce who the business is?

That one box quietly moved my business from social media marketing into strategic brand development and full-scale marketing.

That’s when the direction became clear.

Clarity leads to strategy. Strategy leads to growth.
