So You’ve Hired A Social Media Strategist…

The time finally came for you to hire someone to help your company find their way throughout the interweaving paths on the Interwebs. You researched your Strategist, asked all of the right questions, connected on their Social Platforms and you feel very comfortable with your decision. Chances are your Strategist has already begun putting together a strategy and along with that strategy is going to be a list of things needed. These items could be logo and other design work, company bio, company resources, list of employees using specific Social Media sites as well as other items.

Your first reaction might be to come back to the email a little later and gather all of the needed info. Maybe  you are in a meeting or maybe you aren’t even at the office. Either way there is a huge chance that this email is going to get pushed to the back of your email box and you may even forget about it if you don’t take some sort of action immediately.

You could:

* Keep email status unread as you are more likely to see it

* Respond that you are out of the office and if they could send you a reminder the next day when you are in you will get them everything they need

* Do what you would do if it was a client inquiry

You see, hiring a Social Media Strategist is an awesome thing to do and a great first step down the path to Social Media Success, but your Strategist is unfortunately not as educated in your Brand as you are. Your Strategist will research what it is that you offer, do and/or sell, but there will always come a time when they need some information. Keep the lines of communication open. Respond to emails as soon as you can. Get your Strategist any and all needed items and there will be no stall in your Social Media Campaign.

Your Strategist can only be as committed to your Brand as you are to providing them with what they need.
